About Us
Established in 1971, the Chisago Lakes Achievement Center (CLAC) is a private, non-profit Day Training and Habilitation facility (DT&H) that provides individualized, person-centered programs and services focused on life skill development and community integration for persons with developmental disabilities or related conditions.
Our services provide training and support in the following areas:
- Community access and inclusion – community outings
- Socialization & interpersonal communication skill development
- Utilization of community resources
- Self-care assistance with personal hygiene, physical, sensory & health needs
- Reliable transportation provided
- Positive Behavior Supports
- Community-based connections through recreational and leisure activities and experiences
- Functional life skill/independent living development through specific areas that may include, but not limited to: Job interest, assessment & job exploration; money management & budgeting; OSHA/GHS training; pedestrian/street/survival skill training; computer & technical skill development
- Academic assessment and educational person-centered curriculums
- The Chisago Lakes Achievement Center also offers programs that focus on work-readiness/vocational training and offer various paid work experiences in-centered based and in the community in the areas of:
- Retail
- Janitorial
- Document Shredding
- Recycling Jobs
- Merchandising/cashiering
- Community-based employment sites
- Community semi-independent jobs with employment supports
